The Recipease Cooking Table is an interactive table top designed to make cooking a fun and enjoyable process for home users. This document details the changes in its design concepts from the start to Oinish, the user evaluation testing protocol, scenarios and results. We also analyze our results to determine the success of the table, in particular in the areas of functionality, user interface and the conceptual model.
This product is basically aimed at alleviating the problems defined above by means of a portable projector system that enables a user to project inside their home, images of the furniture items they would like to purchase. However, as opposed to an ordinary projector, this system maintains the actual dimensions of the furniture in the projection, despite the location of the projector itself. Moreover, this system comes with an easy-to-use interactive interface, where the user can choose where he/she wants to place the furniture item in their home and have a proper visualization of how they want to decorate their space. Additionally, this interface also allows the user to select wall colors and textures which helps them match their home surroundings with the furniture that they plan to purchase.

Description:
Our system “Exercise!” is a smart video teaching system for indoor exercising. For people who love to learn and do indoor exercises alone, one of their concerns would be the difficulty of keeping the correct movement while the screen is out of sight. For exercises like Yoga, incorrect movements may even harm the body. Hence we decided to build a system which solves this problem. After our field study, we decided to use a 3D projector instead of a mere screen. The training video has become 3D and holographic so that the users can see the instructor from four different perspectives. The position of the instructor will change according to users’ movements so that users will be able to follow the movements without losing track.

Description:
Our team has come up with the design of a new and wonderful product --- NewMote. This is a universal remote that aims to minimize if not totally remove the inconvenience faced by users while switching remote controls in the process of controlling different electrical appliances. In order to bring this marvel of latest technology to life, our group has undertaken extensive research in order to ensure that we end up with the perfect design for our end users. We began with the Literature review of existing technologies in order to determine the latest technology available for us to realize our dream. Field studies were then undertaken to gather important information from our target users. The results of these studies were carefully analyzed to define the user persona that was needed to serve as the focus of our design. Following the results of our analysis, we proceeded to make paper prototypes and got users to test them. These testing results were then used to further refine our project design. After this long drawn out and painstaking process of iterative design and development, we translated our efforts into the video of our final product in order to demonstrate the functionality as well as the novelty of our ideas and their design.

Description:
Virtual Mania aims to offer a home entertainment system that provides a whole new gaming experience in the comfort of one’s home. For the past decades, single-screen gaming experience evolves from two-dimensional, black-and-white games like Super Mario to three-dimensional, motion-sensing games like those in Nintendo Wii. Despite recent economic downturn, gaming industry is still going strong. Hence, Virtual Mania looks to elevate the level of entertainment in existing gaming technology to the next level by introducing a revolutionary concept of multi-screen game play.
Our design revolves around a device that takes on the image of a parrot. Thus, the name iParrot. Initially, this device is supposed to combine instant messaging function, as well as web conferencing and email features. However, under the constant advice and guidance of our lecturer, we have decided to focus on the aspect of instant messaging.
A first aspect to notice is that this device is wearable and portable. To make this device wearable and secured, we have decided to attach a lanyard to it so that users can strap it around their necks.

Description:
The Interactive Cooking Surface (ICS) is essentially an integration of the stove, counter top, a online collection of recipes and a touch screen with many interactive features. The current concept involves a flat touch screen and a foot pedal as means of interaction. It also houses 3 induction‐cooking hobs for cooking.

Description:
Tangible programming interface called Push Pin Programming (Triple P) is proposed, which aims to allow home users to customize relationships between home appliances with arguably the simplest tools around- push pins and pin holes. As home users are most familiar with their home activities and requirements, it is imperative that they are the best party to configure appliances in their home.
Our main concept has been to design a product that makes the retrieval of books in the library more efficient, effective and satisfying for the user. We have focused on the principle of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid), which states the importance of simplicity and exclusion of unnecessary complexity in the design of new products. The aim has been to get away from the desktop paradigm, where the user interacts with a graphic user interface, usually using a keyboard and mouse as input devices. Rather, we want to design from a user-centered ubiquitous computing perspective, where we strive towards minimizing the user’s awareness of the computational devices included.
A Dress-Me-Up Mirror in every home, helping people to dress better effectively and efficiently. Our main purpose for coming out with the mirror is to let the users visualize their clothing, so as to not have an outfit mismatch when going out, without changing the basic function of a mirror. Since the users have to choose their own top and bottom to get the matching that they want, we have a function for the users to choose their top and bottom. We also included a random function for the lazy people or those who are in a rush and yet want to prevent a mismatch. As this system needs to display all the clothes the user has, the system has to support the function of adding new clothes and deleting clothes which had been removed from the user's wardrobe. For convenience, we came out with the idea of saving the matched outfits that the user selected so that the user can view them for future references.
